1. Classroom announcements supersede conflicting statements found here!!!  2. I am available for help during Activity Period DAILY in my classroom or the Science Office!!  3. I will not answer test questions on test day, period.  Plan accordingly!!  4. On ALL DAYS, bring your textbook, lab book, BioZone book, and notebook.  Notebooks and lab books are checked on test days...  5. If you are absent, you must talk to a RELIABLE classmate and compare his notes to bioweb notes and acquire any added information!  6. Review your notes DAILY, along with whatever is assigned for homework!!   7. Notebooks should contain all class notes and all homework that was assigned to be done in the notebooks!  8. REFRESH THE PAGE!!

Class - lab 9 - Chromatography; outline of lab 9 collected; discussion of labs 9 and 10

Homework - complete labs 9 and 10; prepare for test

 

Wednesday Nov. 19th

Class - review ch. 8-9

Homework - prepare for test ch. 8-9 which includes labs 9 and 10 as well as notes on ch. 8-9; use the focus sheet on ch. 8-9 to help you prepare

 

Thursday Nov. 20th

Class - test on ch. 8-9; notebooks checked in; labs 9 and 10 checked in

Homework - research and write the answers to #1-3 of the Ch. 10-11 focus sheet

  1. State the basic steps of the cell cycle and explain what happens in each.
  2. State the basic steps of mitotic cell division and state what happens in each.
  3. State the basic steps of meiotic cell division and state what happens in each.

 

Friday Nov. 21st

Class - begin ch. 10-11 - Cell Cycle, Mitosis, and Meiosis

Homework - research and write the answers to #4-5 of the Ch. 10-11 focus sheet; outline lab 11

4. Contrast animal cell division with plant cell division.

5. Contrast mitotic cell division with meiotic cell division, especially with regards to prophase I of meiosis I.

 

Monday Nov. 24th

Class - open notes quiz ch. 10-11; lab 11 - Onion Mitosis

Homework - define the terms from the Ch. 10-11 focus sheet

chromatin, chromosomes, chromatids, centromere, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, cytokinesis, spindle, homologous chromosomes, diploid, haploid, crossing over.

 

Tuesday Nov. 25th

Class - work in Biozone Book; finish lab 11
